  1. Haha... I was just watching Westworld and started humming along with the song... thinking -- "wtf, I know I know this song from somewhere?!". Soundgarden's Black Hole Sun was played on the player piano on the first episode of Westworld.... now we get to hear The Cure!!

  2. They also played Let Down by Radiohead. It's been fun listening for the various alternative hits being played on the saloon piano.

  3. Correction. It was No Surprises, not Let Down. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.inverse.com/amp/article/21702-hbo-westworld-soundtrack-songs

  4. It will be lost on most watching the show but it can be no coincidence that (as I recall) as the music plays the Thandie Newton robot is looking at herself in the mirror, looking at her eyes, questioning her existence as she has troubling memories of the past.

And lyrics to A Forest include the following lines:

    "Come closer and see
    See into the trees
    Find the girl
    If you can
    Come closer and see
    See into the dark
    Just follow your eyes
    Just follow your eyes"

Or maybe I'm reading too much into it and the writers just know a good tune when they hear it.... :-/
